Volunteer for one of these Las Vegas Dog Organizations

Volunteering is a wonderful way to help the community. When you provide your time and skills to an organization in need it saves them money because they don’t have to go out and hire an employee or company to provide that service. There are tons of ways that you can donate your time without opening your wallet.

What skills do you have?

Do you know a skilled trade such as electrician, plumber, web designer or architect? If you have a unique and potentially expensive skill-set that you want to donate, reach out to your favorite organizations and simply ask if they need your help. The Barx Parx foundation has a list of partner organizations that are looking for your help and support. Feel free to reach out to us using our contact form and we will happily ask each of our partners if they are in need of your skilled trade.

What if you don’t have any relevant skills or would simply rather not do your day job when you are volunteering? That’s no problem, shelters such as the Henderson Animal Shelter, the Nevada SPCA and others will train you to do what they need you to do to accomplish the volunteer task.

Volunteering is a great way to share your gifts with others, meet like-minded animal lovers and find happiness through rewarding work. Just think, your efforts might allow that organization to save one more animal. How great would that make you feel?

What sort of tasks need to be done?

Here is a list of typical volunteer tasks and positions from the Henderson Animal Shelter. If you wish to apply for any of these positions, contact the Henderson Volunteer Connection for more information.

  • Cat Caregiver Adoption Counselor
  • Dog Adoption Counselor
  • Dog Exerciser
  • Kennel Assistant
  • Medical Sick Room Assistant
  • Office Assistant
  • Offsite Cat Adoptions Caregiver
  • Offsite Event Adoptions

The Nevada SPCA offers all sorts of exciting opportunities to help with their animals in need. You can feed, walk dogs, facilitate enrichment activities or even represent NSPCA in outreach activities. To learn more about volunteer opportunities at the Nevada SPCA, check out their volunteer page. They offer volunteer orientation dates but act quickly because the orientations fill up quickly.

Another less traditional partner organization is Street Dogz, an organization that helps pets and their homeless humans throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Humans fall on tough times and many of them have four legged companions that stay by their side no matter what. Helping people and their pets is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to our community. For information about volunteering with Street Dogz, check out their volunteer page.

Do you know an organization that needs a hand?

If you know of an organization that needs help, what are you waiting for? Step up and offer your assistance, your effort might allow them to do something special to support the community. We partner with the organizations that we feel make the strongest impact in our community but that doesn’t mean your volunteer efforts aren’t needed elsewhere.

If you know of an organization that you think would be a great partner for the Barx Parx Foundation, let us know via our contact form. We are always looking for wonderful ways to help the Barx Parx Foundation community share our love and support.

Don’t have time to volunteer? There are other ways to give back such as adoptions, donations and fostering. Check out our help page for more ways that you can make a difference.
